United States President Barack Obama will make his final address on 10 January 2017 but ahead of the speech, some of the most renowned celebrities in the US, along with ordinary citizens, have come up with a farewell video which reminisce their favourite Obama moments during his eight years as #POTUS.
The video, ‘Yes We Can: People Share Their Most Memorable Moments from the Obama Presidency’, was posted by the White House and captures the President’s journey from 2008.
Apart from celebrities, the video also featured reactions from children, activists and people from all walks of life who shared their memorable moments with the US president.
Actor Leonardo Di Caprio said: “When I was at the UN and I heard our president say that climate change is the most important issue facing not only this generation but all future generations. It was inspiring.”
Basketball legend Michael Jordan said: “How often do we remember Jackie Robinson — everybody knows him. To me, he will be the Jackie Robinson of politics.”
Actress Kerry Washington of TV series Scandal said: “You really felt those first three words of the Constitution, ‘We the people’. It was one of those first times in my life that I felt I was really part of that ‘We’.”
