Tsutomu Ogura has resigned as national coach of the Lions.

A story in Japanese media outlet daily.co.jp has stated that he is resigning for personal reasons and that the Football Association of Singapore is set to announce the development soon.

The Japanese was appointed in February 2024, taking over from Takayuki Nishigaya.

He leaves the Lions after a recent win over Bangladesh, and ahead on Group C in the qualifying.

The story has also been carried in The Straits Times.

A cryptic message in our DM after the match against Bangladesh had stated that he had informed the players that he was leaving.

This remained uncorroborated at the point.

His record stands at Ifive wins, three draws and eight losses over 16 matches.

He also led the Lions to the ASEAN Football Championships semi-finals.

This story is developing.
