Angry parents slam Singapore Youth League organisers after stadium fiasco.

Angry parents of young U-13 footballers playing in the Singapore Youth League began leaving very angry messages on TMSG’s platforms early on 27 April.

This after it was discovered that the Bukit Gombak Stadium which was supposed to be the venue for the Woodlands Lions and Hougang United U13 match was already prepared for an archery competition.

The SYL is organised by the Football Association of Singapore and Unleash The Roar, which comes under the ambit of Sport Singapore.

“My son woke up at 4.30am just to make it in time for the match.

“But yet when we get there, we see that the stadium is being used for archery.”

The parent also informed TMSG that the teams were then told to head to Jurong to have the match played but the teams refused.

The photos submitted to TMSG showed that it was just after sunrise and the stadium was lined with archery targets.

There was an archaic calendar which also showed that the archery event was taking place over three days from Friday to Sunday.

“Why didn’t anyone bother to tell us about this?

“Even the match officials and the ambulance are here,” said the parent.

Separately, the calendar is such a joke, considering Singapore is a first world nation.

Another parent who was with her son asked TMSG to have the info posted to have the Football Association of Singapore and Unleash The Roar “wake up” their ideas.

This was also shared with TMSG.

TMSG also understands that there are other matches scheduled at the same stadium over this weekend which have been impacted by the administrative misdemeanour.
