A TMSG reader has submitted yet another video of what transpired between Lion City Sailors and Balestier Khalsa in an U17 Singapore Youth League match on 24 August at the Bukit Gombak Stadium.

The video shows Balestier U17 coach Ali Imran Lomri approaching the Sailors coach Jasni Hatta at the end of the match after the final whistle was blown, and after both teams had exchanged handshakes.

Questions are now being asked about the presence of both coaches on the field of play, given than they had both been red-carded earlier in the match.

BALESTIER KHALSA RESPONDS

As this story is published on 27 August at 2pm, Balestier Khalsa has addressed the issue through a post on social media.

The club said that it was “conducting a thorough internal inquiry.”

“We do not condone any form of aggressive behaviour from our club personnel, as it goes against the core values and principles that define us,” it said.

“Such actions are inconsistent with the identity of Balestier Khalsa, and we remain committed to ensuring that all conduct reflects the respect and integrity that we stand for.”

The club added that “we take such matters very seriously and will be working closely with Football Association of Singapore and SportSG to investigate the situation.”

“Our priority is to ensure that the matter is handled responsibly, with all relevant parties involved.”

Even coach Peter de Roo got into the act by responding to comments online, specifically to presenter Collette Wong.
