Just days after Tanjong Pagar United announced that coach Hasrin Jailani was leaving the wooden spoonist side firmly rooted at the bottom of the table, the former international midfielder has landed at a new club.
On 4 October, sources close to TMSG revealed with evidence that Geylang International has sought the release of the coach from Tanjong Pagar, and is expected to be announced as a member of Geylang’s coaching staff soon.
TMSG understands that Hasrin will be joining the club as an assistant to current head coach Mohd Noor Ali.
It marks the return of Hasrin to the Eagles, a club he led as a coach from 2016 to 2017, finishing in fifth spot in the Singapore Premier League in 2016.
TMSG did not reach out to Geylang for any confirmation as we did not think that it was necessary given the evidence at hand which was relayed by a TMSG reader and source.
Geylang head coach Noor Ali also did not respond to phone calls.
Tanjong Pagar’s coaching duties is currently being undertaken by Hyrizan Jufri, also a former international.
The Jaguars are the worst performing team in the Singapore Premier League at present with eight points from 16 games.
