Not to be outdone by Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s scorpion kick against Sunderland on Boxing Day, Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud pulled off yet another Scorpion screamer when he opened accounts for the Gunners in their clash against Crystal Palace at the Emirates on New Year’s Day.
In what surely must be a contender for goal of the season, Giroud’s strike was the first of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. The win kept Arsenal in third spot in the Premiership standings, behind Chelsea and Liverpool.
