The Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC) has selected 26 Team Singapore para athletes to represent Singapore at the upcoming 12th ASEAN Para Games (APG), taking place from 3 to 9 June 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Boccia player Toh Sze Ning, who won a silver medal in the Individual Female BC3 and a gold medal in the Mixed Pair BC3 categories at the 11th APG, has been appointed the flagbearer.

This is the first time that the kingdom will be hosting the ASEAN Para Games, which will take place a few weeks after the biennial SEA Games.

13 sports will be featured with e-sports as a demonstration.

Team Singapore will take part in six sports – Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Powerlifting, Swimming and Table Tennis.

The last edition of the biennial event was the 11th APG in Solo, Indonesia, held in August 2022. It saw our Team Singapore athletes winning a total of 28 medals – seven golds, nine silvers, and 12 bronzes.

The contingent will be led by Chef de Mission, Erynne Lim, Board Member of SNPC.

“It is a great honour to lead our athletes at the ASEAN Para Games. I would like to congratulate the athletes on their selection and am confident that they will fly the Singapore flag high.

“I wish them all the best as they enter the final stage of preparations for the Games,” said Lim.

“This will be my fifth time representing Singapore at the ASEAN Para Games and I am very happy and honoured to be selected as the flagbearer,” said Toh.

“I will continue to do my best and hope to bring glory to Singapore again and make Singaporeans proud.”
