“Please bear with me if I have to run off this stage.”
The highly anticipated All Time Low concert came to a sudden halt on Sunday when lead singer Alex Gaskarth’s health worsened over the evening, forcing an abrupt end to the performance.
In an unexpected turn of events, the American rock band, who returned to Singapore after seven years, had to cut their performance short after Gaskarth contracted food poisoning earlier that day.
Despite the setback, the full band managed to kick off the concert with enthusiasm, opening with their iconic track Weightless.
The performance, however, was only limited to a handful of nostalgic favourites, including Lost in Stereo, Six Feet Under the Stars, Time-Bomb, Poppin’ Champagne, and Missing You.
“So, good news and bad news. The good news is we’re in Singapore. The bad news is Alex has food poisoning,” said lead guitarist Jack Barakat, addressing the packed venue at Fort Canning Park after Gaskarth was seen exiting the stage in between sets.
“We were, like, we cannot cancel this show.
“It’s been seven years.
“We’re going to just give it our all and try very hard,” he said.
While the rest of the band remained on stage to entertain the crowd with covers of Blink-182’s All The Small Things and Dammit during the breaks in the performance, Gaskarth was, ultimately, unable to return and had to seek medical attention midway into the evening.
After apologising to concert-goers, the remaining members announced the premature close to the concert and bid farewell to the crowd with their hit track Dear Maria, Count Me In.
Despite the night being dashed by unforeseen circumstances, fans immediately took to TikTok and Instagram to wish Gaskarth a swift recovery.
Many also praised the fellow members for holding the fort and looking out for their bandmate.
“Came to watch [All Time Low], got the Jack Barakat stand-up comedy show,” wrote a fan on a TikTok video that summarised that evening’s events.

“Disappointed that the show had to be cancelled halfway but thankful because [the band] prioritised the health of their member,” said another on Instagram.
“Get well soon Alex and ATL (All Time Low), come back again to perform for us in Singapore when you can,” they added, echoing the fanbase’s anticipation for the band’s triumphant return to the Singaporean stage in the near future.
NO REFUNDS
The event organiser said on social media that there will be no refunds for the short show.
