Here’s your chance to “race” into Singapore’s National Stadium.

May 24, 2024

Local e-sports and lifestyle brand Legion of Racers (LOR), has today unveiled snapshots of the all-new Singapore Sports Hub digital twin track, an exciting addition to the HyperDrive Cities (HDC) Championship 2024.

Spanning an impressive 4.1 kilometres, the track promises both sim racers and fans a dynamic and challenging circuit to enjoy as they race for the championships.

The digital twin will be launched officially in July 2024.

The track is the fourth addition to the series developed by LOR, having previously constructed the Orchard Road Street Circuit, the Jakarta Semanggi Circuit and the Kuala Lumpur Street Circuit.

A highlight of the Singapore Sports Hub track is a section that ventures directly into the stadium itself.

This unique element offers racers an exhilarating experience as they navigate through the heart of the venue.

Additionally, racers will have the opportunity to drive past the historic Old Kallang Airport, adding a touch of nostalgia to the circuit in a modern day sim racing setting.

Said Melvin Moh, Co-Founder of the Legion of Racers, “We are constantly looking at innovative ways to keep HDC participants engaged and entertained while they challenge for the title.

“The Singapore Sports Hub track helps us to reimagine how the venue can be utilised for a race within the venue, if the opportunity ever arises at some point in the future.”

The development of the track utilised LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data, photogrammetry scan, and thousands of on-site photos.

“This comprehensive approach ensures the precise capture of every detail, allowing for a highly realistic racing environment.

WHEN WILL THE HYPERDRIVE CITIES CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024 HAPPEN

The HDC Championship 2024 is set to take place at the end of 2024, following the F1 season.

2023 HDC title winner Moreno Pratama is one of the sim racers who is looking forward to racing within the digital twin of the Singapore Sports Hub, a Singapore national icon.

“The venue itself is quite amazing, and I have read so much about how concerts by superstars like Taylor Swift and Coldplay have attracted thousands of fans to the venue.

“It will be really fun to race through Singapore’s National Stadium, while I try to retain my title,” said the Indonesian.

Having completed circuits for Orchard Road, Semanggi, Kuala Lumpur and now Singapore Sports Hub, LOR is already working on a fifth circuit.

“Our next project will take racers to Changi Airport. It is a complex endeavour involving detailed modelling of numerous buildings and assets, but we aim to complete it within the next year or two,” said Moh, co-founder of LOR.
