After six years of sporadic outings, Malaysian racer Melvin Moh is finally back in full-season competition and he’s already making waves.

The co-founder of Esports and lifestyle brand Legion of Racers (LOR) made a triumphant return to endurance racing, clinching victory in the GT AM Masters class at a gruelling 12-hour race.

Moh, who has spent the past few years balancing sim racing with real-world motorsport, had been waiting for the right opportunity to return.

That chance came when Viper Niza Racing, led by Douglas Khoo, brought him on board.

“I always wanted to do a full season but the opportunity didn’t arise over the last few years other than one or two spot races. So a big thank you to Douglas and Viper Niza Racing for making this happen this year,” said Moh.

Viper Niza Racing, a Malaysian racing team has built a solid reputation in Touring Car Racing (TCR) Asia, the Asian Le Mans Series, and endurance racing across Europe and Asia.

Their latest success came at the 12 Hours of Sepang, where Khoo, Moh, and teammate Dominic Ang delivered a standout performance.

The trio claimed victory in the GT AM Masters class, finished second in the GT AM category, and secured sixth overall at the Sepang Circuit.

It was a result built on teamwork, with the crew working around the clock to get their Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo race-ready.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing.

During Moh’s second stint, his drinking system failed, forcing him to endure an hour in the sweltering heat without hydration.

“I think the conditions were at their hottest, and it was tough to drive for an hour without any fluids. At that moment, you just pray that you can get through your stint,” he recalled.

Teammate Ang suffered the same issue, making it a true test of endurance for the squad.

With momentum on their side, Viper Niza Racing is now focused on a full campaign in the Michelin 24H Series.

Moh is particularly looking forward to the upcoming rounds in Europe, including the 12 Hours of Spa (April 18-20) and 12 Hours of Misano (May 23-24), followed by the 12 Hours of Paul Ricard (July 3-5), the 24 Hours of Barcelona (September 26-28), and the Shanghai Eight Hours in October.

“Competition will be tough in Europe but the goal is still the same, which is to get on the podium and hopefully win some races as well,” he said.

Backed by Motul, Endless, Momentum Autoparts, and IWC Schaffhausen, Viper Niza Racing is ready for the challenge.
