foodpanda launches ‘Better than Plastic’ initiative.

To further champion sustainability and greener lifestyles, foodpanda has kicked off 2019 by launching ‘Better than Plastic’, a range of reusable items that will be gifted to customers with orders from select restaurants.

Beyond plastic, foodpanda is also inviting customers to adopt ‘Meat Free Mondays’ with free delivery from select vegetarian and vegan restaurants every Monday, as well as a host of special offers from leading healthy restaurants.

Laura Kantor, Head of Marketing and Sustainability at foodpanda said:  “It’s amazing to see how just one small initiative can make such a huge difference.

“With 1 million cutlery sets saved to date regionally through our opt in cutlery function, and other food delivery companies following suit, I’m excited to see what we can achieve in the years to come.

“At foodpanda, we are committed to driving genuine change and the Better Than Plastic range will make it even easier for customers to go green and reduce our reliance on disposable plastics.”

Cementing foodpanda’s commitment to sustainability, foodpanda has partnered with popular restaurants to help customers further reduce the usage of disposable plastics.

Jewel Coffee, SaladStop!, Boost Juice and A Poke Theory will gift customers a host of reusable items including a metal straw with cleaner, a foodpanda KeepCup, a Better than Plastic cotton tote bag and a metal cutlery set of chopsticks, a fork and a spoon.
