Aug 30, 2021 ,

Singaporean para archer Nur Syahidah Alim has not qualified for the quarter-finals of the women’s compound open at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

She was defeated 140-136 by Turkey’s Yorulmaz Sevgi in the 1/8 elimination round on 30 August.

She said that she was disappointed with the results.

“We have trained hard for the last five years and I expected more from myself.

“Nevertheless, there are positives to take from this experience and it will only make me stronger.”

She said that she would take some time to “reflect and analyse” her performance.

“Looking at the bigger picture, this is a small setback to what we want to achieve.”

Nur became Singapore’s first-ever world champion in para-archery at the 2019 World Archery Para Championship in Netherlands.
