Tech startup 1 Play Sports receives $2.5m in round of funding.

Singapore-based startup – 1 Play Sports – which provides technology and live-streaming content solutions for sports leagues and sporting events, has received a round of investment through Thinkuvate, an early-stage investment and advisory firm out of Singapore. 

The startup closed its second round of funding by raising $2.5 million at the pre-money valuation of $12.5 million, bringing 1 Play Sports’ fundraising total to $3.3 million so far. 

Thinkuvate joins a group of high profile angel investors, and is a great team of experienced professionals and advisors who invests in early-stage, deep tech ventures working on emerging technologies in fintech, edtech, consumer tech, telecom, machine learning, healthtech, AR/VR, and blockchain.

“This collaboration with Thinkuvate is well-timed as the company is developing its own tech platform for a multi-dimentional fan-engagement experience to connect with sports enthusiasts, fans, athletes, professional leagues, and business partners, all at one platform,” said Mohit Lalvani, CEO of 1 Play Sports (photo below). 

“This is a great opportunity for 1 Play Sports to leverage Thinkuvate’s expertise and experience in strengthening tech companies and for Thinkuvate to enter the sports mediatech space,” he added.

Additional investors joining in this round of funding are Via Projects, Tiger Sports Media, Purple Pte. Ltd., and H Capital Investment amongst high profile angels who hold leading corporate positions globally. 

Thinkuvate, being a Singapore headquartered firm said they believed in supporting local startups and specially those who are strong believers of revenue generating businesses.

1 Play Sports are currently the service provider for the broadcast of the Singapore Premier League.

Another major project 1 Play Sports was involved in was in 2018 when it was the host broadcaster of the 18th World Pencak Silat Championships which was held in Singapore.
