Just three days after losing 7-0 to North Korea, Singapore’s Lionesses suffered yet another heavy defeat to their North Korean counterparts at the Asian Games in Hangzhou.
On 27 September, Lionesses head coach Karim Bencherifa led the Singapore national women’s team to a 10-0 defeat at the Wenzhou Sports Center.
Surely he must feel somewhat embarrassed by the scoreline, at the very least.

The double defeats left Singapore the bottom of Group C as the North Koreans made the quarter-finals of the continental competition while Singapore will take an early flight home from the football competition.
Singapore’s Lionesses are currently ranked 130th in the world while the North Koreans are currently unranked.
However, they were in the top 10 of the women’s rankings in 2022.
The Singapore national women’s team was making their Asian Games debut at this year’s competition.
On the Football Association of Singapore Facebook page, fans aired their feelings at the double digit water polo scoreline.
