In a Facebook post put up on the Unleash The Roar! (UTR) Facebook account, he is listed as the Head of the School Football Academy (SFA).

It is understood that he was only recently appointed to the role and no other details are available, as the appointment was also not posted on the UTR official website.

The SFA is an initiative under the UTR football programme to raise the training frequency and intensity at the secondary school level.

MOVING ON AFTER SEA GAMES

On 18 May, Aw was given time off from his “intense duties” as the coach of Singapore’s U22 team after the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

At the biennial event, Singapore’s Young Lions finished bottom of Group B, with a grand total of zero wins.

Singapore lost to Thailand (1-3), Vietnam (1-3) and drew Laos (0-0) before being hammered (0-7) by Malaysia.

Aw was appointed as head coach of the national U-22 team in March 2023.

His first tournament in charge – the Merlion Cup in March 2023 – saw the Young Lions finish in last spot, which saw them suffer defeats to Hong Kong and Cambodia.

On 12 July, the Football Association of Singapore announced that Aw was exiting the national football body to leave the organisation “as he seeks new opportunities elsewhere”.

Aw was also the FAS Head of Methodology when he exited the FAS.
