For his assault of Albirex Niigata’s Kenji Austin Ho and Sim Jun Yen, Tanjong Pagar United player Aniq Rizqin has been slapped with a 30-month ban from all Football Association of Singapore (FAS) sanctioned tournaments and matches.
He has also been fined $2000.
On 5 March, the FAS said that its disciplinary committee found the player guilty of violent conduct.
Not that there was any doubt given the video evidence which surfaced soon after the assault at the Jurong East Stadium on 10 February.
The club has also been found guilty of failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in a sporting manner during the same match.
It was fined $5,000, with $2,500 suspended until 31 December 2026, provided no similar misconduct occurs in the SPL U21 League or its equivalent.
In videos captured by spectators at Jurong East Stadium whom swiftly sent them to TMSG, Aniq is seen throwing a punch at Albirex defender Sim Jun Yen, 17, during post-match handshakes.
Aniq then swung and hooked Kenji which left him sprawled on the ground.
He was later hospitalised and a police report was also filed against Aniq.
