Southeast Asia’s biennial men’s international football tournament will now be known as the ASEAN Hyundai Cup.
The new sponsors – Hyundai Motor – was announced on 26 May.
The South Korean company is the fourth title sponsor of the ASEAN championship, after Mitsubishi Electric, Suzuki and Tiger Beer.
The announcement was made by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) in Jakarta.
The auto giant will also become the presenting partner of the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup, the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Cup and the ASEAN U-23 Championship.
Hyundai has a history of being involved with football with a partnership with FIFA and the CONMEBOL Libertadores – the top club competition in South American football.
Singapore has won the tournament four times – in 1998, 2004, 2007 and 2012.
When the competition was first inaugurated in 1996, it was known as the Tiger Cup.
It later became the Suzuki Cup in 2008 before having Mitsubishi Electric take up the sponsorship mantle in 2022.
