Former international Mohd Noh Rahman has been named as the successor to outgoing Tampines Rovers coach Akbar Nawas.

On 12 September, the Stags announced on their platforms that Noh will take over the reins as Head Coach, a day after it announced that it had parted ways with Akbar.

“Over the two years I have been part of the club’s coaching team, I have personally seen the environment and culture that the club has built, and it is something I would like not only to continue, but to improve upon,” said Noh on the club’s website.

“Tampines will always challenge for success, and the boys are ready to continue to make the badge proud,” he said.

He added that the opportunity to be the head coach “came quite unexpectedly” and that he was “ready for this new challenge.”

Noh hung up his playing boots in 2016, and has been capped 79 times for the Lions under Jan Poulsen and Radojko Avramovic.

He joined Tampines in 2023 as the Head of Youth Development and as an Assistant Coach.

“What I will do is to continue the work that has been put into preparing the team throughout the pre-season and the first few games, to hopefully guide the team to more success this season.”

Under Akbar, the Stags won two and drew one of the three matches played so far during the 2025/2026 season, which included lifting the Community Shield, in a win over the Lion City Sailors.

The Stags will come up against Tanjong Pagar United on 13 September, in Noh’s first taste of action as the Stags newly appointed Head Coach.
