Naomi Osaka set for WTA Finals in Singapore. Slurp.
Japanese tennis darling Naomi Osaka is set for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals presented by SC Global in Singapore which will be held from 21 to 28 October at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The 20-year old picked up the US Open last month, the first Japanese to win a Grand Slam singles title when she defeated Serena Williams in an ill-tempered match which made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Other athletes who have booked their places at the WTA Finals in Singapore include world number 1 Simona Halep and world number 3 Angelique Kerber.
The WTA Finals is a 10-day event in Singapore featuring the top eight singles players in the women’s circuit.
2018 will be the last time that Singapore hosts the event after losing out to Shanghai in its bid to continue hosting it.
