Singapore’s latest export into the Malaysian Super League (MSL) Shakir Hamzah has been given a nice welcome by the Kedah fans.
Singapore football fans who used to follow the MSL or Premier League and Malaysia Cup of old will remember the yellow and green colours of the Kedah team when Singapore still played in the MSL.

Shakir has moved to Kedah from Home United and will team up with former Protectors coach Aidil Sharin Sahak.
In an earlier interview with the Straits Times, Aidil Sharin said, “He is Singapore’s best footballer this year. His work rate and defensive stability are rare qualities in this region.
“Some coaches may have had a hard time with him, but he has been superb with me and, hopefully, we will be successful together again.”
Shakir, who is 26-years old has three kids, was in the news for all the wrong reasons over the last few years with issues ranging from failing to pay traffic summons to going AWOL while serving National Service.
