One of Hong Kong’s top simracers Jonathan Wong is set to join the Legion of Racers Online Season 2020 Championships. The LOR Online Season 2020 Championships will commence in June and will run till September 2020.
25-year-old Wong, who races under the moniker saika159-, will join the LOR championships as part of Tarmac eMotorsport.
Said the Founder of Tarmac Works Felix Kwong, “As a brand and supporter of eRacing, I want us to be heavily involved with LOR and there is no better way than also participating in the racing.
“We have officially formed Tarmac eMotorsport and have recruited Jonathan Wong, a former champion of eRacing GP in Hong Kong and have been representing Hong Kong to compete in the FIA GT Championship.
“Jonathan has been racing with the best in the world and was on the podium a couple of times so with him on our team we are definitely shooting for the top step of the podium. Our other two drivers, Miguel Botelho and Andy Ngan are both part of the Tarmac Works team as well as experienced and very quick eRacing drivers. I am really excited about our line-up and can’t wait for the season to get started!”
Added Wong, who has won been on the podium on multiple occasions including recently during the World Tour Sydney where he came in third, “I am very excited to represent Tarmac Works to join the LOR championship.
“Having already raced with some of the LOR team players in the FIA race this year, I know that everyone is fast and I hope we can have some good racing here in the championship”
Apart from the World Tour Sydney, Wong also came in third in the World Tour Paris in 2019 and third again in the 2018 Asia Final.
He was also a finalist in the 2019 World Fastest Gamer 2 in 2019.
Said Legion of Racers co-founder Lim Keong Wee, “Having a simracer like Jonathan Wong participate in the LOR Online season championship is a big boost for all of us. He will up the ante and also provide the excitement during the races as he is well regarded as one of the fastest simracers in the region.”
Meanwhile, the Legion of Racers also announced a new partnership with PRISM+, Singapore’s Top-Selling Gaming Monitor brand and Singapore’s First 4K Smart TV Brand, for 2020.
As part of the partnership, Prism+ will provide LOR with monitors support for their studio and also a X340 PRO Monitor as a prize for the Online League. Prism+ joins other partners like Logitech G, Motul and legal firm Eugene Thuraisingam LLP which have been onboarded as partners for the year.
