Johor Darul Ta’zim get off the blocks with a win.
Malaysian Super League (MSL) giants Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) kicked off their defence of the Malaysia Super League title by defeating Aidil Shahrin’s Kedah Darul Aman FC 2-0 to lift the 2021 Charity Shield on Friday, 5 March.
Serving as a league match, the tie at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium meant that JDT bagged their first three points of the season.
The Southern Tigers are hoping that the 2021 season will culminate with the club winning their eighth consecutive league title in the MSL.
Safawi Rasid (35th minute) and Natxo Insa (68th minute) delivered the goals for the Southern Tigers.
Hariss Harun is the sole Singaporean footballer in the Johor side.
