Singaporean female national boxing athlete Danisha Mathialagan has started a GoGetFunding campaign to raise $5,000 to help her qualify for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi.
The SEA Games will be held in May 2022.
Her appeal for funding was posted on the Facebook page of her club – Legends Fight Sport.
Danisha made her Games debut at the 2019 SEA Games in Philippines in the women’s lightweight class.
She did not get past the quarter-finals after a defeat by Myanmar’s Htoo Aye Nyein by a 5-0 count.

“I’m just a local girl trying to make a difference to put Singapore boxing on the radar and pave a better path for the future of boxing in Singapore,” the 24-year-old said in her appeal.
“This will be my second time trying to qualify for the games and I have my eyes set on medaling for Singapore.”
She added that she would be having her training camp in Singapore for a period of 6 months leading up to the games.
“I’m hoping to gather some funds through this platform and together with my savings, I’ll be able to fund for my training sessions and other miscellaneous things.”
She added that any contributions that have not been used will be donated to charity.
She has since raised about $2600 of the $5000 she is seeking.
