Dillan Tan, the reigning champion of the 2022 GTWC Esports Asia Sprint, and Andika Rama Maulana, who claimed the title in 2020, will be spearheading the Mercedes-AMG Esports Team Legion of Racers again in this year’s Asia Sprint.

Meanwhile, Fadhli Rachmat, Moreno Pratama, Luis Moreno and Nigel Chuah have successfully advanced through the pre-season qualifiers.

Fadhli and Moreno will be representing team Tarmac Works with the Honda NSX GT3, while Moreno and Chuah will be fielding the Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO for team LOR x MOTUL this season.

The GTWC Esports Asia Sprint Series will be featuring 60-minute races, with drivers from both the Pro and Silver classes racing together in five rounds from May to September.

Imola, Donington, Bathurst, Kyalami and Suzuka have been selected for this year’s tracks.

Rule changes in mandatory pit stops and the recent update in Assetto Corsa Competizione’s handling model necessitate the team to adopt new approaches in this year’s GTWC Esports Asia Sprint Series.

Notably, the championship will be placing a greater emphasis on the cash prize pool as compared to previous seasons.

Said Melvin Moh, Co-Founder of the Legion of Racers, “We have arguably among two of the best sim racers in this region in Dillan Tan and Andika Rama who are part of our Mercedes-AMG Esports Legion of Racers team.

“Hopefully they will continue their fine run in the competition, and continue to bring Team LOR to greater heights.”

Added Tan, “I will definitely be under pressure as the defending champion but it is comes with the territory.

“I am heading into this year’s competition with only one aim – to win it again.”

Legion of Racers also welcomes Tarmac Works as the title sponsor for the team this year, with both Tan and Rama carrying the Tarmac Works livery that won the Macau GT Cup last year created by well-renowned designer Jon Sibal.

The team also will have Motul and Next Level Racing as team partners for the season.
