The facts are indisputable.

At the Asia Pacific GT E-Motorsport championship held in Hong Kong on 17 December, he finished the competition in fifth place, and was Singapore’s top performer.

Three of Singapore’s athletes who competed at the event were selected by Motor Sports Singapore, the national sports association for motor sports in Singapore.

But that regional competition aside, Tan also managed to amass another seven titles in the bag throughout the year.

The list of championship trophies which landed on his personal mantle included the following:

  1. VCOxLFM Flextreme
  2. RCI Friday Night Sprint
  3. Logitech G Challenge
  4. GT World Challenge Asia Esports Championship
  5. Motorsport Australia GT3 Cup by Octane Online Racing
  6. Moza Challenge Season 2 Finale
  7. Moza Challenge Season 3 Finale

There was more than $15,000 in the total prize pool for all the events and competitions at which he trumped in 2023.

Said the student of Beatty Secondary School, “2023 was a great year for my development as a sim racer.

“But I would not have been able to do it alone, and a huge thanks to the Legion of Racers team and family around me, I was able to win quite a few titles.”

He especially shared how he was over the moon that he finished the recent Asia Pacific GT E-Motorsport championship as Singapore’s top sim racer.

He added, “I was the top Singapore sim racer in fifth place, and for me that was an achievement to be proud ion, given that we came under the Motor Sport Singapore umbrella.

“But again, it has been a team effort, and the progress I have made this year is all down to having a great team around me to work with and to become better in the sport.”

WHAT LEGION OF RACERS SAY ABOUT THE YOUNG TALENT

Legion of Racers co-founder Melvin Moh said that Dillan has set the bar very high as a young sim racer in the sport, in Singapore.

“He has over the years been consistently winning or is among the top performers,” he said.

“Dillan is by far Singapore’s top sim racer at this point and the number of titles he has earned this year is testament to his ability.

“We hope to be able to work with him to help him grow even further, and to help him propel his sim racing career forward.”
