Albirex Niigata’s loss will be Tampines Rovers’ gain.
On 17 December, it was revealed that Albirex Niigata midfielder Kyoga Nakamura has joined Tampines Rovers.
23-year-old Nakamura was one of the White Swans’ more outstanding players in 2019, and was also nominated for the Young Player of the Year award.
In a statement posted on the club website, the midfielder said, “Thank you very much for one year. I regret not being able to share the joy of winning the title with you.
“I would like to thank all the fans and supporters for your warm support. The next season, I will be your opponent. But, I hope you will still support me as a player.”
On 18 December, Albirex Niigata announced on its Facebook page that it has contracted Young Lions players Sharul Nizam and Gareth Low.
