The Legion of Racers simracing team is gunning for yet another title at the eRacing Grand Prix (America) competition which will begin on 8 August.
Organised by the team from eRGP based out of Malaysia, the LOR team is looking to extend its prowess in the competition by adding yet another title to their belts.
Singaporean e-racer Ar Muhammad Aleef Mohamed Rafik was crowned the eRacing Grand Prix Global Europe Edition champion in July. Aleef also emerged the champion of the eRGP Grand Prix Asia Pacific region in May, and the LOR team is banking on yet another stellar showing at the championship.
“I am looking forward to the latest round of races in the eRGP series and I hope that I will be able to add yet another title to my name.
“There will be a lot of pressure from so many other racers but I am prepared to race against the very best. I am also hoping for my team-mates to be on the podium with me at the end of the races,” said Aleef.
While National Serviceman Aleef will aiming for yet another title, his team-mates Jaden Low and Nur Shahzliezhan Hassan will both move up to the gold class in the event.
Jason Tay and Luis Moreno are both looking to finish in the top three spots of the championship while Andika Rama will join in mid-season of the tournament because of his commitment to another competition.
Held on Saturday afternoons, the eRGP (America) Sporting Code will be a six round championship which is open to all drivers from around the world with a focus on the Asia Pacific region.
Drivers will have to qualify each weekend for the next race through the RaceRoom leader board, which will run in the days leading up to the competition.
There will be four leader boards from which the drivers will be chosen from and each round will be made up of a previously un-raced circuit and will be chosen a week beforehand, from a shortlist of racetracks to be decided by the Monday of each race week.
“This is one of the few races where all our simracers are involved in at the same time. This competition will help us gauge their performances as well as their progress as simracers.” said Melvin Moh, co-founder of the LOR.
“Hopefully they will put pressure on each other to do well, while they face competition from other racers from around the world,” he added.
