Popular Japanese food eatery Takagi Ramen has provided runner and its new ambassador Soh Rui Yong a year’s unlimited supply of ramen.
And a cash sponsorship of $20,000.
In a post posted on Takagi Ramen’s Facebook page, the brand said that “being an athlete in Singapore is tough as training often has to take a back seat to working to keep food on the table.”
“That’s why we are proud to sign a year-long sponsorship with Soh Rui Yong providing him with a $20,000 cash sponsorship as well as an unlimited supply of ramen.
“Together with his current sponsorships from Pocari Sweat and UnderArmour, this will finally allow Rui Yong to focus full-time on his training.”
Soh will be racing at the Valencia Marathon in December and is aiming to qualify for the 2022 Asian Games marathon event.
The two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medallist is hoping to beat his own national record of 2:23:42 to get his name on the nomination list.
He currently holds national records in the 5,000 metres, 10,000 metres, half marathon and marathon events.

Takagi Ramen owner Yang Kaiheng also put up a photo of himself at Soh, revealing that the duo met for lunch at its Downtown East outlet on Saturday.
