A news report in Japan has suggested that Singapore Premier League side Albirex Niigata has made an attempt to sign 54-year-old Kazuyoshi Miura for the upcoming season.
Miura, or “Kazu” as he is regarded by most, is currently signed with Japan’s Yokohama FC.
His story was first picked up by local football blog Bolasepako.com.
TMSG has reached out to Albirex Niigata for their response and will update the story if they respond.

The headline of the story can be translated to mean “Offer to Yokohama FC’s Kazu from overseas Albirex Niigata”.
The story is only two paragraphs long but the first paragraph focuses on his offer from Singapore’s Albirex Niigata.
The second paragraph adds that Albirex Niigata in Singapore are strong championship contenders, and that there are many clubs chasing Kazu’s signature for the 2022 season.
Kazu is a Japanese football icon, and played for Japan’s national team from 1990 to 2000.

He holds the records for being the oldest goalscorer in the J-League,the footballer with the world’s longest professional career, and, as of 2021, is the oldest professional footballer in the world at 54.
He has also played professional football in five separate decades (1980s–2020s).
