Goalkeeper Zaiful Nizam has signed a contract with Geylang International till the end of the season.
The former Balestier Khalsa skipper was recently in the news after having his contact terminated for not taking to the field in the match against Young Lions after he was told to do so by coach Marko Kraljevic.
Zaiful, who has three caps for Singapore National Team, has made 13 starts for his former club this season.
His last match was against the Lion City Sailors on August 8.
The 34-year-old Singaporean joins the goalkeeper set-up that includes Hairul Syirhan and Wayne Chew.
Said Zaiful, “I’m very grateful to Geylang International for giving me the opportunity to continue my professional football career with them.”
Geylang International Head Coach Noor Ali said, “Zaiful is a very experienced goalkeeper and I’m confident he will provide that stability in goal as we shore up our defensive unit.
“We look forward to having Zaiful as a key member of our squad.”
Geylang United will face off against Young Lions next.
