On 3 January, TMSG wrote that Harman was challenging the constitutionality of his suspension after it was meted out by the FAS Executive Committee (Exco), and a referral to the Ethics Committee.

Harman, an appointment holder of Island Wide League affiliate GFA Victoria, had also sought legal representation through Glenn Knight, a senior lawyer who was the first director of the Commercial Affairs Department and a former senior deputy public prosecutor.

The FAS themselves had also hired a legal firm to handle the issue in relation to the suspension and referral to the Ethics Committee.

TMSG can now confirm that Harman’s suspension has since been lifted with effect from 4 April, following a meeting with FAS president Bernard Tan, vice-president S Thavaneson and Tampines Rovers chairman Desmond Ong.

The FAS is expected to make public the latest development soon, with the Ethics Committee also being involved in the stakeholder engagement process.

Harman did not comment on the matter.

His provisional suspension stems from the FAS Review Committee report leaks to the media back in June 2023, following Singapore’s shambolic showing at the Southeast Asian Games men’s football tournament in Cambodia.

He declined to be sent for polygraph tests as part of the FAS’ investigation into the leaks, on account of his disagreement with the use of the polygraph tests on ethical grounds.

The other members of the review committee were Razali Saad, Lim Tong Hai and Jita Singh.

This story will be updated once the FAS releases its statement.
