The Singapore national women’s hockey team lifted the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup for the first time on 27 April.
In Jakarta, they defeated Chinese Taipei 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the final.

The women’s team qualified for the final after finishing second behind Chinese Tapei in the six-team group stage.
They achieved three wins (beat Indonesia 2-0, beat Sri Lanka 5-2 and beat Uzbekistan 5-0) and also achieved a draw (3-3 with Hong Kong), with a defeat (4-2 to Chinese Taipei).
The tournament serves as the qualifying competition for the Women’s Asia Cup.
Singapore’s Dayana Ong was also named Player of the Tournament.
