Tampines Rovers has staked its claim to the 2020 AIA Singapore Premier League title after ending Albirex’s unbeaten record in their last clash.

If they maintain their form and position at the top of the table, the Stags will go on to become the first Singapore team to capture the league title since the Warriors FC’s championship winning run in 2014.

Foreign sides DPMM FC (2015, 2019) and Albirex Niigata (2016, 2017, 2018) have clinched all league titles since then.

Separately, the Young Lions are firmly rooted to the bottom of the table after suffering a 5-0 loss at the hands of the Lion City Sailors.

The Stags will have an excellent opportunity to remain at the top of table when they take on the Young Lions in a mid-week clash on 4 November at Our Tampines Hub.

The Sailors will face off against Hougang United in another clash, while Tanjong Pagar United will come up against Geylang International.
