Another Tampines Rovers footballer has tested positive for Covid-19.
On 17 July, the club announced on its Facebook page that a second player had been infected with Covid-19 after returning from Uzbekistan.
“The club regrets to inform that another member of our traveling squad has tested positive for COVID-19.
“After having previously tested negative, this squad member came down with a fever in the quarantine hotel yesterday.”
The player has been transferred to hospital for observation.
The club added that “his condition is currently stable and the club will issue further updates if and when applicable.”
On 14 July, the Stags had confirmed that one of its layers had tested positive for Covid-19 upon they return from the Asian Football Confederation Champions League competition.
The club did not mention whether all its players had been vaccinated prior to travel.
