President of the Football Association of Singapore Lim Kia Tong has passed away.
Sources have informed TMSG that he suffered a heart attack while he was at work.
The information is being shared among senior lawyers and in legal chat groups.
69-year-old Lim was elected as President in 2017 and again in 2021.
In a statement posted on the FAS Facebook page at 1.10pm, the FAS said that it was “devastated to receive news of the sudden passing of our President, Mr. Lim Kia Tong.”
“Mr. Lim had served as the first elected FAS President since 2017 and was a dedicated servant of the sport he loved.”
“On behalf of the FAS Council, secretariat, and the wider football fraternity, we send our deepest condolences to the family of the late Mr. Lim during their time of grief.”
The FAS has also adopted a black Facebook banner as a mark of grief.
