NO ENTRY to cardboard poster to support the Lions? Is this too extreme?

Jun 7, 2024 ,

A parent of two young children has shared his frustration after a sign created by his kids were allegedly not allowed to be brought into the National Stadium for the match between Singapore and Korea Republic on 6 June by security personnel manning the entrance at the venue.

The father of the two young children wrote in to TMSG with photos to describe his frustration.

“My kids were watching the national team at the Sports Hub for the first time ever,” he said, while asking for his full name not to be used.

His children are aged eight and eleven, and had brought with them a banner which they had created for themselves, to support the Lions.

He then claimed that “Stadium security made us throw it away at the entrance.”

“Poor kids were in tears” and I “didn’t expect such idiocy to ruin their first matchday experience at Sports Hub,” he said.

“Well done to the koyaks managing Singapore Sports Hub.”

“They are doing a good job of killing both the atmosphere and Singapore football,” he added.

He added that the “mind boggles as I try to figure out how showing love and support for her country artistically on a piece of cardboard is considered a security risk.”

He also compared his children’s poster to the one hauled up high by the SingaBrigade.

The Singapore Sports Hub should respond to the allegations being levelled against it by the parent of the two young children, for any avoidance of doubt, so there is clarity on what it deems as dangerous, and why this poster was not allowed to be brought into the venue.

TLDR.
