Not a Cup. Not a qualifier. So why?

Sep 28, 2019

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has spoken about losing three of his players for the upcoming friendlies between Brazil, Nigeria and Senegal in Singapore.

Klopp will see Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Sadio Mane travel across the world to Singapore for friendly matches during the current season.

“That’s another thing now – friendlies on the other side of the world,” Klopp is reported as saying.

“We just got the message that Brazil will play Senegal in Singapore. And you think ‘okay, that’s obviously not a qualifier for any cup and stuff like this’. We always talk about solutions [to player fatigue] but we have no influence on the problem.

“We only get the problems and then we try to find solutions for it.

“So for the players it stays intense. The good thing is that we are not the only club affected. The more international players you have the more you feel these problems obviously.

“It is exactly the same for most of the teams. Players fly all around the world then comeback and we collect the bones and go again. So that is how it is.”

Brazil will play against Senegal and Nigeria in Singapore on 10 and 13 October.
