Singaporean swimmer Yip Pin Xiu has finished her 100m backstroke S2 heats in first position, and has qualified for the finals of the event at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
The finals for the 100m backstroke S2 event will be held later on in the afternoon at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre at abut 4.40pm Singapore time.
The three-time Paralympic gold medallist finished her heats in 2:14.46.
In Rio in 2016, she grabbed the gold in 2:07.09.
If she finishes in top spot later, it will be her fourth gold medal at the Paralympics, having won two gold medals in Rio 2016 and one at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
